STAR PREVIEW Blackburn v Newcastle

first_imgThe FA Cup has already had its fair share of what one might call ‘cupsets’ but not that many people will be surprised if Blackburn beat Newcastle tonight. It has been a long time since Newcastle won a trophy and Rafa Benitez’s sole focus will be to keep Newcastle in the Premier League. Blackburn are a Championship club but one that is a tough nut to crack on home soil and perhaps one that should already be through.Rovers were just six or so minutes away from taking a brilliant away win before Matt Richie’s late penalty and bar that, goalkeeper David Raya kept most of Newcastle’s nineteen shots out without too much trouble and breaking them down at Ewood Park could be even harder.Blackburn have lost just two home games at Ewood Park in all competitions, and they came to Sheffield United and Norwich, two of the top three in the division and both in better heart and form than the Magpies.Put simply this will be harder than the visit of Blackburn in the third round and Newcastle are not going to send anything close to a first team. Nine changes were made for the third round tie and now Newcastle are in the bottom three with Cardiff coming to St James’ Park on Saturday.Newcastle’s first team have scored just 16 goals in the Premier League and the 11 on the pitch for the 1-1 draw had less than five goals between all of them. Blackburn may see a changed team with Tony Mowbray but they still look a fair price to take a win.Blackburn Rovers v Newcastle UnitedFA Cup 3rd Round Replay19:45 BT Sport 2 / BT Sport 4K UHDHEAD TO HEAD RECORD(Maximum 10 matches)JAN 2019 FA CUP Newcastle 1-1 BlackburnJAN 2017 CHAMPIONSHIP Blackburn 1-0 NewcastleNOV 2016 CHAMPIONSHIP Newcastle 0-1 BlackburnFEB 2012 PREMIER LEAGUE Blackburn 0-2 NewcastleJAN 2012 FA CUP Newcastle 2-1 BlackburnOCT 2011 FA CUP Blackburn 4-3 NewcastleOCT 2011 CARLING CUP Blackburn 4-3 NewcastleSEP 2011 PREMIER LEAGUE Newcastle 3-1 BlackburnFEB 2011 PREMIER LEAGUE Blackburn 0-0 NewcastleNOV 2010 PREMIER LEAGUE Newcastle 1-2 BlackburnJAN 2009 PREMIER LEAGUE Blackburn 3-0 NewcastleSEP 2008 PREMIER LEAGUE Newcastle 1-2 BlackburnRECOMMENDED BETS (scale of 1-100 points)BACK BLACKBURN 10pts at 7/5 with starsports.betPROFIT/LOSS SINCE JAN 1 2017: PROFIT 187.55 points(excluding Premier League ante-post, cricket and rugby bets to be settled)last_img read more
